Having heard of your site from many directions and
after having read the recent article by Dan Scanlan, I finally took time to go
to your site.
I lived near Hendricks Ave. School while growing up and moved to Mandarin in
junior high. We always came out to ride the little train on Sunday. When I
married and had sons, we would stop after church at Mandarin Methodist and let
the boys ride.
I do recall that there was an article in the Times Union quite sometime after
the train closed down that followed up on Mr. Ward and the train. If I remember
correctly, Mr. Ward still had the train being stored in his back yard at the
time of the article.
